A Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year to all Players & their Families, Sponsors, Patrons & Supporters
- Chris Drummond (Chairman) on behalf of the Club
On 10/12/11 the 1st team beat previously unbeaten league leaders Sawston Utd 2-0 away with goals from Glenn Hodgson & Matty Fisher. This was a superb team performance and a thoroughly deserved victory meaning we have now taken 7 points from the last 9. After a disappointing start to the season Europe here we come!
These are now in stock and can be purchased by club members.
Cost £30 Please speak to Fraser or Chris.
We are seeking new players of all ages and abilities to boost our Men's Saturday & Sunday teams and also our Ladies team. If you are interested in joining the Men's club contact Fraser on 07763 351490 or for the Ladies team contact Heidi on 07846 229525
Training is now every Tuesday 7pm - 8.30pm under the floodlights at The Sycamores Recreation Ground. All welcome.
This season's Player of the Year Presentation/Fundraising night will be held on Sat. 12th May 2012 at Milton Community Centre 7pm - midnight. Disco & Buffet. Ticket price £10. More details to follow
The Club continues to seek new sponsors at all levels. If you can provide an introduction to a company that might be interested please speak to Fraser or Chris
At the AGM of the Club held on 28/09/11 Chris Drummond was appointed as the new Club Chairman. Chris has served the club wonderfully well over the years in several different roles and has a great passion for the club. The committee hope that his energy and enthusiasm will `rub off` on the management team/players and that the club will make good progress on and off the field under his leadership.
We are looking for volunteers to run our club shop/tea bar on match days (mainly Saturday afternoons). If you can spare a couple of hours to help the club in this way please contact Fraser on 07763 351490
These can be purchased by club members at the subsidised rate of £5 Please see Fraser or Andy Gray
The season concluded with a very successful and well attended Player of the Year Disco and Hog Roast on 14th May.
A full list of the award winners can be found on the Club/Player Honours page.
Date for your diary: Pre-season training starts on Tuesday 5th July @ The Sycamores Rec. Ground – 7pm, NEW PLAYERS WELCOME.
The first team brought down the curtain on an intriguing season with a fine 3-0 away win over Wimblington on 7th May. Our scorers were Glenn Hodgson (2)
and captain Matty Fisher. Although we finished in 3rd place in Kershaw Senior A, missing out on 2nd place by just 2 points, there is still a chance that we might be promoted to the Kershaw Premier league should there be a vacancy generated by another club from that league moving up to Step 6 of the pyramid.
Sadly the 1st team narrowly failed in their bid to retain the William Cockell Cup going down 10-9 to Linton Granta in a nail biting penalty shoot out in this year's final after the match finished 1-1 at the end of extra time. Joe George had given Linton a 1st half lead but Mikey Evans held his nerve to score from the penalty spot after 75 minutes to force extra time. It was a herculean effort by all concerned particularly bearing in mind the number of injuries that we were carrying both coming into the game and attained during it.
The Reserves enjoyed a great run-in comfortably pulling away from the relegation area, the A team finished in mid-table and the Sunday team came 4th in their league.
The committee is always open to new ideas that would help improve the Club/footballing experience for all concerned. Please email your suggestions to info@miltonfc.org.uk or speak to any club officer.
