New Club Chairman

At the AGM of the Club held on 28/09/11 Chris Drummond was appointed as the new Club Chairman. Chris has served the club wonderfully well over the years in several different roles and has a great passion for the club. The committee hope that his energy and enthusiasm will `rub off` on the management team/players and that the club will make good progress on and off the field under his leadership.

Volunteers Needed

We are looking for volunteers to run our club shop/tea bar on match days (mainly Saturday afternoons). If you can spare a couple of hours to help the club in this way please contact Fraser on 07763 351490

Training (2011/12 Season)

The Season has Ended (2010/2011)

The first team brought down the curtain on an intriguing season with a fine 3-0 away win over Wimblington on 7th May. Our scorers were Glenn Hodgson (2)
and captain Matty Fisher. Although we finished in 3rd place in Kershaw Senior A, missing out on 2nd place by just 2 points, there is still a chance that we might be promoted to the Kershaw Premier league should there be a vacancy generated by another club from that league moving up to Step 6 of the pyramid.

Sadly the 1st team narrowly failed in their bid to retain the William Cockell Cup going down 10-9 to Linton Granta in a nail biting penalty shoot out in this year's final after the match finished 1-1 at the end of extra time. Joe George had given Linton a 1st half lead but Mikey Evans held his nerve to score from the penalty spot after 75 minutes to force extra time. It was a herculean effort by all concerned particularly bearing in mind the number of injuries that we were carrying both coming into the game and attained during it.

The Reserves enjoyed a great run-in comfortably pulling away from the relegation area, the A team finished in mid-table and the Sunday team came 4th in their league.

Improvements

The committee is always open to new ideas that would help improve the Club/footballing experience for all concerned. Please email your suggestions to info@miltonfc.org.uk or speak to any club officer.
